Meet The Pastor!

I was raised in Westmoreland, Tn where I lived the true American childhood. I have two brothers in which we were raised by two old-time Baptist parents. Our Dad is a pastor so we were blessed to be rocked and swaddled in the Baptist cradle. We spent every summer visiting different revivals throughout Middle TN, going to day and night services. As a child, you cannot appreciate the way you were raised until you are able to look back and reflect upon experiences you were blessed to be a part of.

I was saved by God’s grace coming home from revival at Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church on Hwy 52 when I was around 12 or 13. I know it had to be in July but I cannot tell you the actual date nor the literal time. However, I can take you to the place. As Paul states, “It was about midday O king…”, it was in the late afternoon for me and a great day. We should not idolize the day nor time, for Salvation is an experience, something you can know about. Salvation is real, a peace that passeth all understanding, not emotionalism or in the mind, it is much deeper. It reaches the soul.

After I was saved, I went to church as Dad pastored them. Fast forward a few years down the road to revival at Old Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church in 2013. I was a young teenage kid by this point, attending a revival as usual. However, this revival was different. As I was sitting in the pew, I was awestruck by a young lady whom my soul loveth. That young lady is named Jessica, who now is my wife. The Lord has blessed us with a son who is named Kellen. The Lord has blessed us with many wonderful years already and I pray He will continue to do so.   I went several years without uniting with the Lord’s church. I could not see the importance of the Lord’s church. I was baptized into Athens Missionary Baptist Church when I was 15. The Lord called me to preach at the age of 17 of which I finally owned when I was 18. I preached my first sermon that same year. I was ordained at Athens MBC in August 2022 to the full work of the ministry to pastor at Eastside MBC.
